
Pianist, professor at the Academy of Music in Lodz, where he runs piano classes; Drewnowski pursued his studies in Warsaw with Ryszard Bakst and Zbigniew Drzewiecki. The recording of Scarlatti's Twelve Sonatas in 1975 won him wide critical acclaim. After having listened to this interpretation of Scarlatti, Leonard Bernstein asked the pianist to perform with his Boston Symphony Orchestra. Marek Drewnowski has also given concert performances in the foremost concert halls of the U.S., Europe and Japan. He took part in the 50th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II memorial concert, where he appeared with such celebrated artists as Leonard Bernstein, Barbara Hendriks, Herman Prey and Liv Ulmann. The concert was televised by numerous broadcasting companies to audiences all over the world.
