‘Usually, a first record marks the beginning of a process. Here, we face something different and have the impression that the pianist, confident in his musical choices, is already making his way in a very (precocious) mature style!  ...’ -Yvan Ischer; Producer, Radio Suisse Romande – Espace 2

It is hard to believe that Gilles Estoppey is only 25 years old, his dense compositions and incredible virtuosity show all the hallmarks of a much older and more experienced performer. Estoppey is a veritable jack of all trades, he effortlessly switches style from track to track, exploring different themes and musical structures throughout the album, from the daringly indelicate to the wickedly smooth. With influences ranging from Hip Hop, funk, contemporary to Classic Jazz, Estoppey’s debut has something for everyone in a cohesive package. Estoppey demonstrates throughout that he is definitely one of the bright sparks to keep an eye on in the international Jazz circuit. Yet another fine addition to the already stellar catalogue of Dinemec Jazz.
