Stravinski

Released (2001)

This album marks the 50th anniversary of La Psallette de Geneve which brings together Laurent Gay, L'esemble vocal de la Psallette de Geneve and the Orchestre du Festival Amadeus (composed by several musicians who played in the famous Orchestre de la Suisse Romande). This historic pairing boasts exceptional performances of the following works of Igor Stravinski: Mass, Octet, Concertino, Symphonies of Wind Instruments, Symphony of Psalms. On top of this, the album was recorded in 24bit high resolution in Geneva's Vicotria Hall which has unparralled acoustic qualities. This album is monumental by all accounts as it is also the first time that these particular key works of Stravinsky find themselves on the same album. The record transmits nicely the great creativity of the composer and offers a clear idea of the work diversity that he has been able to summon up throughout his life.
