Michael Corboz is, without question, the greatest living choral conductor. For decades his old recordings have remained the touchstone by which modern versions of choral classics are measured. Considering, this Dinemec Classics album was Corboz’ first major recording in a long time, it is superb. He masterfully conducts the world famous Gulbenkian Orchestra of Lisbon and the attendant choir- trained by Corboz himself – a splendid chorus of equal merit.
