Succès Damnés (The Lost Album)

Released (2009)

Originally recorded in 1993 in Lisbon, Portugal, ‘Succès Damnés’ contained 13 original tracks written by Lala between 1978 and 1993 except for ‘Love Me, Please’ which is a cover version of a Michel Polnareff song. Dubbed the ‘Lost Album’ because the original master recordings can no longer be found, this album was digitally remastered in 2008 at Dinemec Studios. Finally this collection of songs, described by  Lala as ‘ex new wave cool’, is ready to reach its new audience after a long hiatus in the vaults. Although the music is over 10 years old, it comes to the listener as a breath of fresh air; as the old cliché states ‘they don’t make them like they used to’.

The album also contains two brand new recordings by long term collaborator and co-founder of the Tanagra Foundation, BillyBoy*, eclectic to say the least, these songs are described by the artist himself as ‘Cartoon Jungle Stomp’.

To celebrate the launch of the album, a party in association with Dom Perignon, was held  at Dinemec studios in January 2009. The event will feature an exclusive album listening session, an opportunity to see works of art created by BillyBoy* and Lala and the official premiere of the ‘Edie Superstar’ Pop Art inspired music video filmed at Dinemec Studios.
